When at 19 years old Anne was persuaded by someone she respects Lady Russell that their marriage would be unwise. Eight years later Captain Wentworth is persuaded out of his resentment which is partly due to some accidents but it is Anne herself who persuades him at last. I extraordinarily admire and also enjoy reading Austen’s psychological descriptions of Anne’s inner world with every word sparkling with spontaneous and pure affection. The complicated bitter-sweet emotions of Anne adequately reveal female’s philosophy of love: her observations of Wentworth give her hope indeed yet she merely considers it as an illusion before all has settled down. In fact he cannot be ignorant of their former sentiments which is a proof of his amiable and treasurable heart as well as a compensation for her struggle at the beginning. This kind of relationship really resonates with my heart since to some degree the *** with a constant good willing toward others yet desires nothing to return who possesses a sober mind as well as stands quite helpful who gets used to lack of attention and often enjoys a little quiet cheerfulness is no one but whom I myself is much alike.

The end of Persuasion satisfies both the romantic and the rational elements which Anne represents. It is a novel of reconciliation. A slow start it grows on the reader with wonderfully stages scenes expressive dialogues and solitary meditations. There is no deny that female’s perspective sometimes seems quite limited to love affairs and other trivial things in life irrelevant to politics or human development it still recalls the most innermost and sincere feelings of human being. When reading the part in which Wentworth and Anne make their love clear to each other even when they are in a crowd of family or strangers the answer is gradually revealed at last. That is also one of Austen’s gifts as a novelist to see the personal romance within a particular social context.
