Moment in Peking《epic...》

A superb book about Chinese upper and upper middle class families during early 20th century(from 1900 to 1938). The three family tracked in the novel represent a traditional Confucianism Daoism and Pragmatic hedonism's influences on Chinese Culture. Set in Beijing the political center of China this book is full of historical events of at the time fall of Qing Dynasty Warlords and the Japanese. The Two TV series based on the book don't even come close to it.
