About a Boy《humorous fiction with a real heart》

Forgive me to quote this comment directly from the New York Times Book Review it really fits. A humorous work more precisely a light-hearted work with wit. And the heart I contemplate is the unaffected confession of two utterly distinct heroes in exceptional situation and the unique peculiar but sincere communication between them. There is also enlightening investigation about whether it is possible and proper for one to live as an island but may not be the main focus of the book. Generally two highly impressive characters a series of attractive plots(a little bit too dramatic in my view) and considerable witty remarks compose this worth-reading book.(By the way the book is much better than the movie indeed)
