Adjective like nice/beautiful are opinion adjectives. They tell us somebody thinks of something or somebody.

Opinion adjectives usually go before fact adjectives.

Often we use quite with a positive idea and rather with a negative idea:

She's quite intelligent but rather lazy.

When we use rather with positive word it means'unusually' or 'surprisingly'.
